Request a Realm & Control It as Admin

Realms are the Enterprise organization unit for schools and districts. Request one by email, the founder sets it up, then your realm admin invites members and sees the Houses and the weekly AI credit pool.

A Realm is the Enterprise tier’s organization unit: a school or district that holds Houses (courses) directly, and the classes enrolled in them. It is the top of the hierarchy:

Realm (district) → House (course) → Campaign (unit)

A Realm has no departments. Its Houses sit directly under it. Note where a Party attaches: to the House, not to a unit. A class enrols in the course once and plays every unit in it.

Realms are an Enterprise feature. They are not self-serve — there is no in-app “Create Realm” button for customers.

How to get a Realm

To get a Realm, email businesswizard@rpglms.com. The founder sets up the Realm and enrolls your organization’s owner as the realm Master (Admin / Owner). From there, the owner manages it in-app using the steps below.

Joining a Realm changes what you can see

A Realm is a container, and membership scopes you to it. While your membership is active the app shows you only that realm’s Houses, campaigns and classes: courses you created before joining, or outside the realm, stop appearing in My Houses, Gamemaster Quarters and the drawer.

They are hidden, not deleted: they remain yours, and they reappear if the membership ends. This is why an empty list inside a realm names the realm — “No Houses in <Realm> yet” means the realm is filtering what you see, not that you have no courses. A House you create while you belong to a realm belongs to that realm.

Realm members don't use Explore

While you belong to a realm, that realm’s content is all you can reach. Explore and joining a public party are for people outside a realm, so a realm member on any tier doesn’t get them. And a realm’s own Parties are never public, for anyone, admins included.

Control your Realm

  1. Open the Realm dashboard

    A realm admin reaches it from the navigation drawer, not from Base Camp. Open the drawer with the D20 menu button and tap the Realms die (its tooltip reads Realm Management). It lists your realm by name, with Realm • Master or Realm • Sage beneath. It appears only for an active Master or Sage — an Apprentice never sees it. The app-bar title reads District until it loads, then shows your realm’s name.

    The info card shows chips for the realm’s members, Houses and parties. When your organization has a weekly AI credit pool, it also shows an AI Usage This Week bar, with the credits used out of the pool.

  2. See the realm's Houses

    The Houses section lists every course in the realm and its owner (“Owner: <name>”). It is metadata only: realm staff are not thereby given a House’s content, so the rows don’t open. Teachers create their own Houses, and a House made by a realm member belongs to the realm.

  3. Invite members and assign roles

    The Members section groups people by role: Masters, Sages and Apprentices, with Pending Invites at the top. Invite User opens the invite dialog (“Invite to <realm name>”), where you pick the Role. Realm invites require explicit acceptance.

  4. Manage members

    Each member row offers change-role and Remove Member. A removed member leaves the realm, and the courses they made outside it reappear for them.

The weekly credit pool

An Enterprise realm shares one weekly AI credit pool across its members, rather than a monthly allowance per person. The pool resets once a week, on the weekday set for your Realm (Monday unless it says otherwise). If your organization sets no pool, the AI shows as unlimited: “your organization sets no weekly pool”.

The pool, the seat limits and the allowed email domains are set by the founder, not in the app. Email the address above to change them.

Roles are not tiers

Inside a Realm, Master / Sage / Apprentice are membership roles (Admin / Owner, Teacher, Student) — a separate axis from the Enterprise subscription tier that the Realm runs on. They are different from the House collaborator roles, Editor and Teacher, which belong to a single House.
